JOnAS: オープンソースのJava EEアプリケーションサーバ

JOnASとは、ObjectWebコンソーシアム（現 OW2 Consortium）が開発したオープンソースのJava EEアプリケーションサーバであり、2005年2月1日、J2EE 1.4 の認証を受けている。

JOnAS にはリモート管理コンソール機能があり、Webアプリケーションのアップロードや配備、Webアクセスポートの設定、ユーザーアカウントの管理などが遠隔から可能となっている。一般にオープンソースの J2EE サーバのリモートコンソールは扱いにくいが、J2EEサーバはエンドユーザーが管理することを想定していないので、JOnAS のリモートコンソールは教育的な目的で重要となる。

連携するWebサーバとしては Apache Tomcatや Jettyが選択可能である。Javaで開発されたので、動作環境ではWindowsでもLinuxのPOSIX系でも可能である。
